Position Summary:
The Ranger/Starter is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience by managing the flow of play on the golf course and providing a welcoming, organized first impression on the tee. This role is essential in maintaining pace of play, enforcing course policies, and delivering outstanding service consistent with resort-level experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting guests on the first tee and provide a warm, professional welcome.
- Coordinate and manage tee time departures to ensure on time starts.
- Communicate course rules, pace of play expectations, and daily course conditions.
- Monitor pace of play throughout the course and proactively address slow play in a courteous manner.
- Assist guests with course navigation, yardages, and general information.
- Maintain consistent communication with the golf shop and outside services team.
- Enforce course policies and etiquette while maintaining a positive guest experience.
- Respond to guest needs on the course, including minor issues or questions.
- Report any course concerns, safety issues, or incidents to golf operations management.
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle situations professionally and diplomatically.
- Ability to stay proactive and attentive in an outdoor environment.
- Knowledge of golf and golf etiquette preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and drive a golf cart for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Work Environment:
- Primarily outdoors on the golf course.
- Interaction with resort guests from a wide range of backgrounds and expectations.
